WHAT’S INCLUDED IN A LAY LOOK? 


We provide everything you’ll need on the table - chinaware, flatware, glassware, table linen, place cards, décor and more. A detailed list of contents can be found within each look description. 


Need something in particular? Steak knives? A canapé tray? Fear not, these can be found in our Useful Extras so that nothing is left forgotten.

CAN YOU PROVIDE ROUND TABLECLOTHS? 


Yes! All our single-colour tablecloths are available in both rectangular and round sizes. All our patterned tablecloths are available in large rectangular sizes only. 

Available tablecloth sizes can be found within each look description, under 'What's Included'. 


When making your order, you can specify the number of tablecloths required for your event. We will always try to fulfil your requirement, however, more than one tablecloth is not guaranteed. Contact us at hello@laylondon.com if you wish to check before finalising your booking.  

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I MAKE A BOOKING FOR? 


We can provide a LAY table-setting for booking sizes between 6 and 30 guests. The largest party size any one collection can provide for, is 30 guests

Planning a bigger bash? For bookings of over 30 guests, you can order from different collections and combine to meet your needs.

WHERE DO YOU DELIVER? 


We deliver and collect orders within London only for £15 each way, please use our postcode checker to see if you’re in our area.


Planning a bash outside the city? We would be happy to help - just email hello@laylondon.com for availability and a delivery fee quotation. 

HOW MANY DAYS IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK? 


Subject to availability, you may book your look up to 3 working days in advance of your event date. For bookings within 3 working days, please contact hello@laylondon.com.

N.B. Our service may be unavailable during public holidays. 

WHAT DOES IT COST TO RENT A LAY LOOK? 


Our LAY tablescape looks start at £30 per person. Additions (e.g. extra dinnerware) will incur further costs, as detailed on the product pages. 

HOW DO I MAKE PAYMENT? 


Once you have completed your booking request online, we will contact you to confirm availability (usually within 4 hours of your request, Mon-Fri 9am till 6pm). 

If your chosen items are available for your specified date and time, you will receive a link to make payment and finalise your booking. We cannot guarantee the reservation of your order until payment is received.

We accept Mastercard, Visa, Maestro, AmEx and more. 

PAYMENT TERMS 


We don’t like hidden charges, and won’t charge you a hefty damage deposit at checkout, or add washing-up fees. We will however issue you an invoice for 25% of the total hire cost, as a damage deposit, one week before the scheduled delivery date. This invoice will need to be settled in order for the delivery to take place. The deposit will then be refunded within 5 working after we have collected the rented items from you, if no damage has incurred. If the damage is greater than the deposit fee charged, then a second invoice will be raised to cover any further damage or delayed collection fees. We will notify you before any damage fees are charged to your card.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CHANGE OR CANCEL MY ORDER? 


CHANGES - All orders are considered final following payment. Subject to availability,changes can be made to a booking up to seven (7) days in advance of the delivery date. 


CANCELLATIONS - Any order cancellations made thirty (30) or more days in advance of the delivery date will result in a full refund. Any order cancellations less than thirty (30) days but more than seven (7) days in advance of the delivery date will receive a credit to your Lay London account. Within seven (7) days, we are unable to offer any refund or credit for your order as explained in our Terms and Conditions

WHAT ARE YOUR DELIVERY FEES? 


To make your event as easy as possible, we come to you! Our delivery & collection fee is £15 each way (£30 in total per order) within London.

RENTAL PERIOD


Your LAY look is reserved for the date of your event only. We aim to deliver the day before your event and collect the day after your event. Subject to availability, we can deliver and/or collect the same day of your event. 


EXTENDED RENTALS 


If you wish to book a look for more than one day, please contact hello@laylondon.com for your personal quotation. 

HOW DO I SCHEDULE MY DELIVERY & COLLECTION? 


Upon booking your look, we will contact you to confirm a date for both delivery and collection. You will then receive your exact delivery & collection window 4-5 days before your event. 


Our normal delivery and collection timings are Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. If your event is on the weekend, we will deliver Friday and collect on Monday. If you require delivery outside of our standard days/hours, this is subject to availability and will incur a surcharge delivery and/or collection fee. 


You, or a specified contact, must be present at delivery and collection. We are unable to leave your order outside or an insecure location. If we are unable to deliver or collect your order, you will be charged additional delivery and/or collection fees for any subsequent re-attempts. Any such charges will be taken from your pre-paid damage deposit fee. We cannot guarantee availability to reattempt delivery and will not be able to refund your order if delivery cannot be completed.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN MY ORDER ARRIVES? 


Your tableware will arrive packaged in custom padded LAY London bags, with wooden crates for the table décor. These bags and crates will remain with you, for re-packing your items after your party. The bags & crates are your responsibility whilst in your possession. If these are not returned, you will be charged a fee. See our Terms & Conditions for more details. 

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY COLLECTION? 


Everything in your order should be returned, packing materials included*. It is your responsibility to re-pack the items securely, ready for our scheduled collection. Each item comes with packaging, inside our LAY bags, to protect the goods in transit. When you unpack, be sure to keep the internal packaging safe, to ensure re-packing is as simple as possible for you. 


*You are welcome to keep your place cards! 

DO I HAVE TO RETURN EVERYTHING CLEAN? 


No, all we ask is that you gently rinse the chinaware, glasses and cutlery so that no bits of food or drink stains are left on the items. Food or drink left on these delicate items overnight may leave permanent stains. If you do not rinse your items, you may be charged a washing-up or damages fee.

HOW TO CARE FOR OUR TABLEWARE


All our tableware is beautifully crafted and made to be handled with care. To keep these items dazzling and save you any damage fees, we have some easy tips you can follow.


Candles – wax candles should not be used on LAY London tableware, including our lanterns and tablecloths. Our tableware is not heat, flame or wax resistant. We recommend the use of LED or flameless candles for the same effect, without the risk of damage. LED candles can be added to your order, just go to Useful Extras. 


Coasters – we can provide large coasters for wine bottles, jugs or food dishes to protect your table or tablecloth from stains. You can find these coasters here. Else, contact hello@laylondon.com to add these to your order. Please note, some looks have these included, just check the look description to see what's listed in the contents. 


Rinsing your items – we ask you to please gently rinse the chinaware, glasses and cutlery after your event. No dishwasher needed! Food or drink left on these delicate items overnight may leave permanent stains. 


Storing your items – after your event, we recommend you re-pack the items as soon as you can. LAY London bags and crates are a handy way to store the tableware safely away (from animals, children or short-sighted guests!) 

WHAT HAPPENS IF I BREAK SOMETHING? 


You are responsible for failure to return, loss, destruction, and damage to the items. If you return a product damaged, you will be charged for the price of repairing or replacing the product, as determined by our discretion, to the retail value of the product. This charge will be deducted from your damage deposit, or, if the damage is greater than the deposit charged, then a second invoice will be raised to cover any further damage. We will notify you before any damage fees are charged to your card. See our Terms & Conditions for more details.

FINER DETAILS... 


COURSES 


For our dining collections, we can provide tableware for up to four courses per person. You will automatically receive a 10” main plate, a 8” dessert or starter plate & 6” side plate. An additional 8” plate and 8” bowl plate are available to rent, at cost. 


TABLECLOTHS 


When making your order, you can specify the number of tablecloths required for your event. We will always try to fulfil your requirement, however, more one tablecloth is not guaranteed. Contact us at hello@laylondon.com if you wish to check before finalising your booking. 


PLACE CARDS 


If you have chosen calligraphy for your place cards, we will need the final list of your guest names no less than 3 working days before your event. We are unable to guarantee the completion of your cards within 3 working days, nor can we credit your account less the calligraphy fee. Place cards will arrive with the delivery of your LAY look. 


DÉCOR 


Each look has been curated to include unique table décor. We will provide you with the perfect amount of décor for your party size. Just check the look description for details on exactly what is included.
